The Life and Thought of Dietrich Bonhoeffer (1906-1945) - German pastor, theologian, and peace activist. He wrote profoundly about Christian faith, community, grace, and ethics, centered on the question, ‘Who is Christ for us today?’ The unspeakable human suffering resulting from the atrocities of the Nazi regime compelled him into church resistance and, finally, political resistance through a conspiracy against the Nazi regime called Valkyrie. Imprisoned during the last two years of his life, Bonhoeffer was executed just weeks before the end of the war. Come and learn more about this compelling Christian. Two Wednesdays April 15 and April 22, 11 am Connect Center OR 7pm Zoom. Led by Pastor Theresa. *For Everyone* The English Reformation and the Rise of Puritanism - We will take 4 weeks looking at later developments of the English Reformation, The Theology of the Puritans, especially Richard Sibbes, called the “Heavenly Doctor.” We will consider the influence of competing powers and Kings, James I and Charles I, Cromwell and Charles II.
